Position Summary

The position is responsible for product management and acts like the product expert for the Brand(s)

Responsibilities include managing the product portfolio per retailer through forecasting and setting pricing

This product role knows every single SKU in the assortment from material code to sales performance, and uses this knowledge when building the launch plan in collaboration with Brand Manager and/or Consumer Marketing

Key Performance Areas and Description

Launch Management & Trade Marketing

  • Manage and maintain the product portfolio aligned with brand strategy per channel, retailer, door type

  • Act as the Brand expert on own product assortment as well as competitors (assortment, pricing) in order to identify opportunities in local markets

  • Work in close collaboration with Consumer Marketing in building local launch plans

  • Manage all of the newness forecasting process with the Retailer and Demand Planning team

  • Derives the marketing plan into a detailed animation and promotional plan by Retailer, including product launches and special events; iterates with Key Account Managers. Updates planograms by Retailer and door type

  • Responsible for campaigns (Event Management, timing of campaigns and tracking)

  • Responsible from budget for promotional (e.g. GWPs) and Visual Merchandising material (e.g. displayers)

  • Create and maintain the Net Sales Schedule and Master Data files

  • Place monthly orders for new launches including sellable, displayers, samples

  • Responsibility for pricing, pricing communication, visuals in store for new launches

  • Follow up with retailer on monthly collection sell through reports

  • Build & maintain monthly product performance report

  • Manage sampling and promotion initiatives

  • Maintain and update the monthly Ecom/core site refresh document in line with the new launches and share with the E-com team

  • Analyze sales performance of key categories to create the foundation for right decisions.

  • COGS analysis to continuously optimizing product assortment.

  • In corporation with Commercial Sales give inputs to Latest Estimate Reviews to Brand Manager

  • Executes Visual Merchandising decision-making (quantities, regional vs local production) and monitoring (budget, quality, delay), in particular regarding launches

  • Liaise with Regional Marketing and local teams to ensure most cost effective tools (products, samples, support elements) are created for market - both for new product programs and existing product program support

  • Drives innovation and continuous improvement on Trade Marketing and Visual Merchandising for the brand, in particular on Connectivity and Digital capability integration

  • Measures performance of Trade Marketing actions and strives for spend optimization

  • Keep all key stakeholders updated with regards to any changes in the calendar and launch dates

  • Build and maintain a good work relationship with the Retailer, Customer Service, Finance and Demand Planning teams

  • Performs other duties as directed in line with role and brand strategy


  • Manage pricing plans (new products, price increases, and price upload and pricelist creation) according to regional and global policies.

  • Responsible for forecasting of saleable products with the aim of maximizing forecast accuracy

  • Monitoring master data to ensure accuracy

  • Produce input and send requested reports to EMEA Marketing.

  • Manage and maintain discontinued products and returns with the objective of reducing returns

  • Ensure the final prices are shared with all stakeholders and updated in local systems before the order date

  • Conduct competitor pricing analysis for new strategic launches and prepare recap reports

  • Works with Brand Managers to understand category analysis and impact of newness and basic business.

  • Drives pricing strategy through regular and consistent reviews and plans

Budget / Cost Control / Inventory

  • Works closely with Supply Chain to monitor stocks; proposes mitigation actions in case of availability or excess issues

  • Monthly attendance of SIOP and brand estimate meetings (where relevant)


  • Min 2- 3 years Marketing experience in a retail / cosmetics / luxury goods or FMCG arena

  • Degree in Marketing or Equivalent

  • Strong knowledge of MS Office – especially Microsoft Excel (usage of pivot tables & VLOOKUP)

  • Analytical thinking

  • Willingness to lead projects

  • Possess drive, motivation and acute attention to detail

  • Structure is more important than creativity

  • Strong organization & time management skills

  • Self-motivated: a self-starter with ability to work on multiple projects

  • SAP experience is an advantage
