Retail HR Manager

Employee Relations:

  • Influence, coach and guide management through avariety of employment law and employee relations matters, advising on bestpractice resolutions to resolve all performance and other employee relationsissues

  • Manage the employee sickness & absence policy andprocess, working in conjunction with management to ensure all cases are dealtwith in a timely and appropriate manner.

  • Track data to develop an understanding of re-occurringemployee relations issues within regions and specific store locations andcreate best practices to run an effective organization.

  • Remain up to date with employment legislation and bestpractice, communicating relevant information to the business. Recruitment & Selection:

  • Liaise regularly with Heads of Departments to identifyand plan future recruitment needs and work collaboratively with hiringmanagers/staff to ensure an up to date job description and person specificationis maintained for each vacancy.

  • Work closely with HR BP’s to ensure efficiency ofrecruitment processes and practices, in line Retail HR Strategy.

  • Attract high caliber talent at field/retail level,build network and talent pipeline.

  • Promote awareness of ELC Companies as best place towork.

  • Deliver interview skills and feedback to management. Performance & Talent Management:

  • Lead performance development /merit/bonus processesfor Retail sales employees ensuring training, communication onprocess/timelines and assisting with all phases of the year end process toensure timely and accurate completion.

  • Support the management team in the identification, anddevelopment of high potential candidates within the team.

  • Partner with management to manage succession planning &career-pathing of field/retail talent. Learning and Development:

  • Work in partnership with the management to identify,develop and implement soft skill trainings and other development programs.

  • Create, facilitate and/or implement HR relatedtrainings for retail.

  • Work with management to create induction plans for newemployees.

HR Analytics & Organizational Development:

  • Ensuring the HR strategies and projects align with theoverall business strategy and plans.

  • Analyze, report and communicate key HR metrics to HRDand management.

  • Use data, reporting and analysis to understandstrengths and areas of opportunity for people practices within the region,developing strategic and tactical programs/action plans as necessary. (i.e.employee engagement, reward and recognition, etc.)

  • Coordinate with appropriate global HR service delivery(HR Shared Service) to ensure consistency and cohesiveness across the deliveryof the services.

  • Well informed on external/competitive retail bestpractices and share internally with HR colleagues, recommend new and innovativeprograms and practices to positively impact the in-store culture, operationsand retail performance, in line with Retail HR Strategy.

  • Implementation and introduction of new HR initiativescoming from the region (Global Sales Capability)

  • Be a champion of change in support of Brand,Corporate, or Transformational Initiatives.

  • Advanced PC user (MS office, HRIS, databases)

  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory factors including relevant employmentlaws

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to identify and solve problems

  • Ability to build efficient relationshipswithin and outside the organization

  • Natural relationship builder with stronginfluencing and negotiating skills

  • Strong analytic and problem solvingskills

  • Strong commercial and marketplaceawareness

  • Ability to prioritize workload anddemonstrate agility in decision making
